With her gorgeous, diamond-encrusted Grammys award and Billboard chart-topping songs, Adele’s life seems perfect on the surface – but she’s spoken out about her struggles with anxiety and weight loss in the past. For Adele, it’s about living mindfully, whether that means meditating or stopping to take in the sights and sounds of the world around her or practicing healthy habits in everyday life. Here are eight of her favorite healthy habits you can start implementing into your own routine today.
1) Get Enough Sleep

Adele famously requires 10 hours of sleep a night, and there’s a good reason why. Getting enough shut-eye is essential for both your physical and mental health. When you don’t get enough sleep, your body doesn’t have time to repair itself from the day’s wear and tear. This can lead to everything from weight gain to a weakened immune system.
2) Embrace the Spice Jar

Adele loves to cook with spices. She believes they not only add flavor to her dishes, but they also have health benefits. Embracing the spice jar can be a great way to add more flavor and nutrition to your meals. Plus, it can help you cut down on salt and sugar. Here are a few of Adele’s favorite spices turmeric, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, oregano, paprika and black pepper. Her top tip for cooking with spices is: Don’t be afraid to experiment!
3) Nurture Relationships

If you want to be like Adele, start by nurturing your relationships. After all, she credits her son Angelo as one of the main reasons she got sober and turned her life around. Here are a few things you can do to nurture your relationships • Make eye contact when talking with someone; this will show them that you’re listening and interested in what they have to say.
• Be present for people; this means putting down your phone or computer when spending time with someone so that they know you’re fully engaged in their company.
• Listen without judgment; avoid interrupting or trying to fix problems during conversations, and ask open-ended questions to encourage them to talk more about themselves (i.e., Tell me more about how that made you feel.).
4) Keep Moving, Always
We all know how important it is to keep our bodies moving. We’ve been told time and time again that sitting is the new smoking. But, even with that knowledge, it’s still hard to find the motivation to get up and move. Especially when you’re comfortable. That’s where Adele comes in. She does what she has to do to make sure she gets her blood pumping. She admitted on one of her Instagram stories that she jumps out of bed at 4am every morning to go for a run before the sun rises because she knows if she doesn’t get her body moving then, it won’t happen later in the day. She said I don’t have a running partner so I just go on my own. The point is: if Adele can do it – so can you!
5) Set Aside Time for Yourself

In order to maintain your health and well-being, it is important to set aside time for yourself each day. This can be used for any activity that relaxes or rejuvenates you, such as reading, yoga, spending time in nature, or writing in a journal. By taking this time for yourself, you will be better able to handle stressors throughout the day and remain healthy both physically and mentally. Additionally, be sure to schedule regular checkups with your doctor and keep up with any recommended vaccinations or screenings.
6) Choose Gratitude Over Guilt

One of the healthiest things you can do for yourself is to choose gratitude over guilt. Guilt breeds negative emotions and can be damaging to your mental and physical health. Gratitude, on the other hand, has been linked with improved mental and physical health, increased happiness, and even better sleep. If you want to live a healthier life, start by being grateful for what you have.
7) Laugh (It’s Good For You!)

When was the last time you had a good belly laugh? If you can’t remember, it might be time to schedule some fun into your life. According to research, laughter has plenty of health benefits including reducing stress, improving heart health, and even boosting immunity.
